Dear All,
In the high winds four weeks ago a cable was damaged in the woods
outside here. We haven't had a working land line since then and our
broadband is wonky. The necessary repair, which is in the hands of
three or four different companies, (one to dig the hole, one to fill
it in, one to climb to the top of the post, one to climb back down,
and one to chop off branches, which needs special permission from a
tree authority...) hasn't started yet and when it does it could
deprive us of both phone and broadband for weeks or months. So if you
if you find you can't communicate with me you won't be the only one.
Excuse use of this distinguished cultural discussion channel for
mundane matter.
