Are you interested in learning how to use the R package? Perhaps you already have a working knowledge of R and would now like to learn how to use more of its advanced features?
The Royal Statistical Society is offering 2 short courses in R in 2015.
Introduction to modelling with R Commander, 14-15 May 2015, presented by Paul Baxter (University of Leeds)
This course will introduce participants to the R environment for statistical computing through the use of R commander – a menu-driven interface to R. Day 1 of the course focuses on entering, working with and visualising data. Day 2 focuses on regression modelling, including linear, logistic and Poisson models. Day 1 requires familiarity with basic statistical methods (e.g. t-tests, boxplots) but assumes no previous knowledge of statistical computing. The two days can be taken together, or separately depending on a participant’s background and interests.
Advanced Programming in R, 7 & 8 December 2015, presented by Colin Gillespie (Newcastle University)
This is a two day intensive course on advanced aspects of R programming. This workshop is primarily aimed at R users who do not have a formal background in computing. The course will be a mixture of lectures and computer practicals and will cover conditional programming structures, functional programming, S3 and S4 objects.
