Well, I have to claim a little part in that as I sent them the picture, its Otford station in Kent btw, but they had already acknowledged this was an issue and although the PRMTSI doesn’t specify that they have to be all the same colour they knew this was potentially misleading and so went with all the same colour as good practice to illustrate.
Kind Regards

Subject: DIFFERENT COLOUR STAIR NOSING TOP AND BOTTOM
At long last the Department of Transport has revised its Code of Practice for accessible railway stations and removed the illustration showing different colour stair nosings (yellow) at the top, bottom and intermediate steps. The code now shows a flight of stairs with all stair nosings the same colour (albeit yellow) As previously posted on this forum, this increasing practice of highlighting the top and bottom steps with a different coloured stair nosing to the rest on a flight of steps has gained momentum in the high street and public buildings, raising questions and concerns!
There is a perception from specifiers that by highlighting the top and bottom stair nosings in a different colour it becomes beneficial to visually impaired people. Whether perceptions will now change, i guess we need to wait and see!
