Hi Raymond,
You might look at the recent publications (both by Christian Rätsch )
Witchcraft Medicine ISBN-10: 0892819715
as well as
The Encyclopedia of Psychoactive Plants ISBN-10: 0892819782
In the historical record you can find mentions in Della Porta, the
usual Witch Trial sources, Agrippa, etc.
The first account is in "Puch Aller Verpoten Kunst, ungelaubens und
der zaubrey" By Johannes Hartlieb.
Ratsch is the best author on the topic right now in terms of sound
historical as well as biochemical information. There are various
references scattered through the small press of the 60s to the 80s
There is some discussion in Harner, Michael, Hallucinogens and
Shamanism of European ethenogenic shamanish with poison plants.
This soon to be released title looks promising.
The Witches' Ointment: The Secret History of Psychedelic Magic by Thomas Hatsis
You wont find much in terms of "detailed description of ritual use"
which can be trusted. Their very use at all is subject to some
dispute.
Hopefully thats helpful,
Madeleine

I am hoping to find something that digs a bit deeper. Comparative analysis of flying ointment recipes, detailed description of ritual use, etc. Historic and/or contemporary.
