An Academic Institution, based in South East and West London, have a permanent opportunity for a Digital Resources Librarian to join their expanding library service. In this post you will be responsible for the management and development of a broad range of digital services, platforms, software and tools.
The main duties of the Digital Resources Librarian include:
- Management of the Library digital resources, systems and technologies which includes databases, Library Management Systems, online platforms and delivery systems eg discovery search
- Coordination and development of services including collection development and academic liaison
- Researching new digital initiatives and technology solutions for services, as well as the implementation, training and development of these solutions
- Designing and delivering user education and information literacy training, including developing online resources guides
- Compiling and analysis of usage statistics for physical and online services.
- Line management and mentoring responsibilities
The ideal candidate for this Digital Resources role would possess a postgraduate qualification in Library/Information Science and have demonstrable experience in a similar management role within an academic environment. You will also have excellent customer service and communication skills. In addition you will be proficient in electronic resources management, the use of library management systems and discovery search services.
The role can be based at either location, but you will be required to be at the other site at least one day per week. The role is looking to pay £30,000-35,000 per annum.
