Then we would love to hear from you... we have a great opportunity for an Account Manager to join our online team who will provide excellent levels of customer service to ingentaconnect's publisher customers. Ingentaconnect is used by over 25,000 registered librarians globally in academia to access and subscribe to leading academic books and journal content from over 300 publishers.
The Account Manager has overall responsibility and is the primary point of contact for a defined customer list - in terms of the relationship, revenue and service level. The key areas of focus within this role are to:
* Build, develop and financially grow relationships with ingentaconnect publisher partners.
* Provide excellent service and advice.
Some key tasks include:
* Ensure regular communication via phone and face to face meetings. Some UK and possibly international travel may be required.
* Implement a strategy for partner retention.
* Maintain of accurate and current records of activity and status of each publisher relationship.
* Develop detailed knowledge of the latest developments within the academic publishing industry.
* Communicate strategic issues and information to Accounts.
* Liaise with worldwide counterparts and Head of ingentaconnect to ensure common best practice.
* Ensure contracted service levels are met.
* Handle negotiations regarding new services
* Input into Account Management strategy, Engineering and Product Management priorities.
* Attend industry related conferences and exhibitions as required.
* Employ a proactive approach to ensure publisher relationships run smoothly and any issues pre-empted and avoided wherever possible.
The ideal candidate may have held their first (post-graduation) position within the editorial or production team of a publishing house or with a subscription agent, but has moved on to a customer-facing or commercial role, either within or outside the industry. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products is essential and experience with a CRM (ideally Zoho or Salesforce) is desirable.
