HERs will all be aware of the project that Graham Tait ran last year to investigate mechanisms to transfer records from the NRHE to HERs and many of you will have taken part in the workshops and online discussions. This project is being taken forward to test the suggested mechanism (manual cut and paste from a specially developed website that would allow recording of the transfer and maximise flexibility).
A project design is with HE at the moment that includes 2 days of testing by HERs of the development system to iron-out any problems and assess times etc. This would be funded as part of the project (at a flat day-rate) and would include all bespoke HERs (as they are all different) and a sample of HBSMR users (as they are all the same).
We have been asked by HE to prove that the test sample can be assembled before they agree the project design and Crispin Flower of Exegesis has assembled a very short (1 minute or less) questionnaire to capture this information.
Please could HER managers indicate their willingness (or otherwise) to be involved, using the questionnaire as soon as possible (and by the end of next week at the latest so that the project design can be agreed).
The questionnaire is at https://www.esdm.co.uk/nrhe-to-her-project-sign-up
This is potentially one of the biggest changes to the landscape of HERs that we will see for a very long time and I would encourage all HERs to be involved.
