Dear all,
The "G" specialist discussion meeting of the Royal
Astronomical Society on Friday 8th May is a BGA
meeting, on the subject: "The geophysical response
of the Earth to fluid migration: oil and magma",
organised by Kathy Cashman, Quentin Fisher
and Mike Kendall, 10.00 am until 2.50 pm in the
RAS lecture theatre at Burlington House (Piccadilly
W1J 0BQ). See www.ras.org.uk for more details.
The RAS' AGM follows: if you are a RAS member
and have not already voted, please do so, for our
Council candidates Andy Biggin and Anton Ziolkowski.
The deadline for electronic votes is 12 noon on
Thursday 7th May (election day, so you won't forget
if you are in the UK!). Paper ballots received at
the RAS before 12 noon on Friday 8th May are
valid; or you can attend the AGM and vote in
person, which extends the deadline to 3 pm on Friday
8th.
Note that for electronic votes you should have received
a personalised email some time ago. The paper
ballots were posted out last week. There is a link to
the election information on the RAS homepage
www.ras.org.uk
The AGM, starting at 3 pm, also includes consideration
of revised bye-laws. There is an agenda in with the
voting papers.
Regards,
Sheila Peacock,
list co-owner; RAS Council; BGA.
