Good Morning
This is a final call for papers for the 23rd CAPE Conference being hosted by The University of Edinburgh, UK on the 3-4 November 2015 with visits to leading industries on 2nd and 5th November.
Abstract submission closes on 30th April 2015.
"CAPE" began in 1986 as "Computer-Aided Production Engineering", reflecting the research strategies as industry and the academic community sought to take advantage of computer technology and its applications in manufacturing. Over the years the topics for CAPE have been continually monitored to keep abreast of the most recent developments in manufacturing processes, design and management research. CAPE has now been held in four of the five continents (Europe, Asia, North America, and Australia). I am proud that the Institutions of Mechanical Engineers and Engineering & Technology have again agreed to support CAPE, with papers submitted to the conference being considered for publication in the Proceedings of the Institutions.
Papers are invited from industry, academia and industrial research institutions within the following topics:
CADCAM, Robotics, Automation, Casting, Semisolid Forming, Near Net Shape Forming, Cold Forming and Hot rolling, Environmentally-friendly (clean) manufacturing, New design methods and machine design Machining and forming, Additive manufacturing, Unconventional machining, Advanced methods of measurement and applications in manufacturing (for example atomic force microscopy), Micro- and nano-engineering in manufacturing, Modelling, simulations and control in manufacturing processes, Manufacturing for renewable energy systems and processes, Manufacturing in medical engineering, Supply chains - technology and management, Manufacturing in microelectronics, High volume manufacturing, Global design and manufacture, Manufacturing courses in higher education, Manufacturing and the circular economy, Virtual manufacturing and E-enterprises, Digital factories and Advanced laser processing technologies.
Papers presented at the conference will also be considered for publication in Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
