Hello all from the Sunny Paradise Island of Jersey
I have been in discussion with a local resident who moved into a property about a year ago and recently decided to dig up a half an allottment sized piece of her garden to grow vegetables. She was delighted to find that a previous occupier had used the area as a makeshift landfill and so far she has discoverd a significant quantity of foam backed carpet, several hundred batteries and miscellaneous metal items, all in a state of decay. Despite advice to remove the contamination and fill the area with clean topsoil, she remains adamant that she wants to get the soil 'tested'. The States of Jersey analyst said he won't do it so she needs to speak with a UK analyst. Does anyone have any recommendations? I have tried to reason with her, but she is a little eccentric and probably not short of cash .
Your comments would be appreciated.
