Senior Analyst  -  Midlands  -  To £45k plus Benefits

Working within an innovative financial services company, the Senior Analyst will demonstrate the ability to work with large and complex data sets to produce management information and industry insights to inform business processes and strategy. You will be responsible for critically and intelligently interpreting data; key to the role is the production of, and commentary on, accurate business and market intelligence.
The role is based on analytical and data manipulation skills as opposed to programming work. As such the role will demand a flair for innovative thinking and the ability to place internal company intelligence within the wider political-economic environment.
With exceptional numerical abilities and advanced MS Excel skills you will be self-motivated and able to work independently and will take full autonomy over statistical responsibility for a Product line.
The role will business partner the product line head and act as the financial, statistical and analytical eyes for the operational and technical teams in the business.

Specific Tasks within the Role

-	Generates output and information that drives key business decisions and change
-	Takes ownership and accountability for product line statistics and supports their business partner in understanding the business and enabling decision making
-	Provides clear messages and commentary on results and findings
-	Monitors and assesses market data and where necessary using this knowledge to inform analysis
-	Proactively seeks opportunities to develop services for own business area; recommends new products/services based on knowledge of customers’ requirements 
-	Utilises continuous improvement methodology
-	Works closely with Business Intelligence team to ensure productivity, concentration on value added activities and optimising processes
-	Demonstrates variable scenario modelling and forecasting
-	Ensures data integrity across the business
-	Leads improvement in internal processes and methodologies 
-	Acts as a role model, taking professional attitude to all work within business agenda 
-	Presents effectively up to Director+ level on areas of specific knowledge (influencing more than updating)
-	Defines, develops and manages complex excel processes where necessary
-	Work on own  initiative to link themes and data across disparate projects to produce holistic results
-	Co-ordinates with all relevant information systems available to optimise MI results 

Key Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Essential
-	Behaves with professionalism and diligence
-	Proactive, flexible and adaptable
-	Advanced Excel ability
-	High level of numeracy. Comfortable working with figures and mathematical concepts
-	Experience of real-world application of statistical analysis
-	A flare for analytical thinking and a creative approach to solving problems 
-	Attention to detail and accurate working practices
-	Ability to clearly and concisely articulate findings to a variety of non-technical audiences
-	Detailed knowledge of analytic and statistical procedures, tools and techniques and their applicability, applies these correctly 
-	Adaptable skill-set, enabling successful performance in a variety of roles

Advantageous
-	Experience of statistical analysis software 
-	Financial services reporting experience
-	Knowledge of complex statistical interrogative techniques
-	Experience of self-led research techniques and processes
-	General political-economic knowledge and awareness
-	Knowledge of Credit Risk/Scorecarding
