Neat! very fetching -
wood he,
woodn’t he…
why woodn’t he?
This can’t be allowed to continue!
I suspect it harbours a snake,
a black snake in the woodpile.
Neighbourliness suggests you pause there:
'Need a hand?'
And say you’d never put a painted one on the fire yourself.
My local streets are constantly adorned with castoff items - mattresses,
‘free books’ even. I brought back some books. My neighbour said:
'Even books can harbour bedbugs! I no longer borrow from the public library.'
