At the „Friedrich List“ Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences, TU
Dresden, Institute of Transport Planning and Road Traffic, the position
Chair (W3) of Traffic and Transportation Psychology is to be filled as
soon as possible.
We are looking for a personality who is able to represent the area of
traffic and transportation psychology in research and teaching. The
chair to succeed Prof. Dr. Bernhard Schlag in research and teaching
covers the whole area of traffic and transportation psychology in its
interdisciplinary connections with engineering and economic professions.
This comprises mobility and traffic behaviour, traffic safety, human
factors, the intersections of psychology with traffic planning and
traffic engineering as well as with automobile technology, aviation and
railroads, mobility and behaviour management, traffic psychological
assessment and intervention, research and evaluation methodology.
Teaching and lectures are interdisciplinary and comprise the degree
courses Traffic Engineering (diploma degree), Transportation Economics,
and Psychology (bachelor and master degrees). A high engagement for
teaching (in German and, if applicable, in English) and the
participation in the academic administration are required. Management
and further development of the laboratory for perception and lighting
engineering, the driving simulator and driving assessment tools also
pertain to the chair.
Experience in research and teaching in several of the above mentioned
areas as well as in successful fundraising particularly of third-party
funds (such as DFG, EU, federal ministeries, industry) are expected as
well as extensive scientific publication. Applicants must fulfil the
employment requirements § 58 of the Act Governing Academic Freedom in
Higher Education in the Free State of Saxony (Saxon Academic Freedom in
Higher Education Act – SächsHSFG.
