The seminar, funded by the Economic and Social Research Council, will take place on Monday 13th April at Glasgow Caledonian University. It is designed to engage in a reflection on the relationship between sport and physical activity in later life. This is part of a wider series of seminars about the opportunities for and barriers to physical activity among older people, a very topical issue in contemporary Britain, especially following London 2012 and Glasgow 2014. The seminar will consist of three papers by academics who have conducted research on the experiences of older people who are Master athletes. We have also invited older athletes to ask them to take part in a panel discussion in which they can share with us their experiences of remaining physically active as they age. There will also be opportunities for small group discussions and networking.
>
> Attached is a booking form. If you know of any postgraduate student or early career researcher who would like to attend, we can also offer a small number of bursaries to cover travel and/or accommodation, on a first come first served basis. We therefore also attach the bursary application form. There is no registration fee for the seminar. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
