Dear Professor Sandal
Thank You
Women human right violation is a problem
in Africa. Midwives and other professionals including hospital support
staffs are
doing it knowingly or unknowingly. In Ethiopia we have tried to dvelop
a concept note for training Health professionals and drafting
Charter. I am sure i will benefit a lot by participating in this summit
But I don't know how

I am working towards a PhD which is aimed at finding ways to assist midwives in offering respectful and dignified maternity care. Sadly - as it is in other parts of the world, there is abuse and disrespect of women in SA. I am very grateful to the charter : "The 7 Universal Rights of Childbearing Women " as a teaching tool. Regards Barbara Hanrahan (Teaching Midwife, Johannesburg)
