Hi Liz,
We collect JR1 / JR1A / BR1/ BR2/ DB1 and PR1 eResource statistics on a monthly (rather than annual) basis. We do this for packages e.g. Oxford University Press, Dawsonera and individual journals.
Our collection of stats is a combination or gathering them manually (going to each individual publishers site, downloading them and saving them in a folder with the title of the resource and updating a spreadsheet we keep for our SCONUL report) and using automated tools such as JUSP. This is carried out by myself and other staff and I have created a spreadsheet with the name of each resource we gather stats for, a space for people to type the date they have checked them and the date the latest stats are available (see below). This is useful as it ensures that the work isn't duplicated and provides an overview of where we are up to.

Subject: [lis-e-resources] Collecting statistics of use - advise sought
Dear Colleagues
I would appreciate it if you could tell me if any of you collect JR1 / JR1A / BR1/ BR2 eResource statistics (whether of eJournals, eBooks or other eCollections) on a monthly (rather than annual) basis and if so how you do this. Are the statistics broken down to individual eJournals and eBooks? Do you achieve it programmatically or is it more manual involving spreadsheets or some other solution? Any advice will be happily received - even if it just to tell me why you don't collect the statistics monthly.
Thank you in advance.
Kind regards
Elizabeth
