Dear my colleagues and friends fighting for disability rights
Greetings from Myanmar (Burma).
I am Nay Lin Soe, a person with wheelchair as well as founder and program
director of Myanmar Independent Living Initiative-MILI.
By the collective effort of all of us, inline with CRPD, the National
Disability Rights Act was recently approved by Upper House and now waiting
to be continuously approved by Lower House and President Office of Myanmar.
Registration of PWDs is part of the Act and now we are lobbying to get
"disability pension" for persons with severely disability first under the
social protection program of the nation.
So now, we are collecting the good examples, references and statistic data
of Asian and ASEAN countries on disability pension and benefits of
registration ID card.
If you have information on this, please share with me.
Your kind support on this part will be very useful for our disability
community and make successful our advocacy.
I am looking forward your kind response.
Best regards,
--
