Hello,
While running RELION I understand it writes out temporary files to distribute all probability-weighted sums of the model (Copy pasted from the FAQ). My question is whether there is a way to tell RELION to write it out to each nodes scratch space? Does each process need access to all the temp files written out while running?
We use NFS to access our data and if someone runs with 450 MPI processes the writes are what take the majority of time for some jobs. It may be that our storage is not able to keep up... I have seen the bit about using MPI to distribute the sums but the potential drawbacks make me hesitant to try it.
Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated,
Christopher Lilienthal
