In the build up to the General Election, the conference Housing – A Critical Perspective
gathers experts from across the UK and abroad to debate the critical issue of housing provision.
To close the conference, on April 09th, the RIBA President, Stephen Hodder, and the Head of Strategic Development for Cabe, David Waterhouse, will give open public lectures on the housing crisis in the UK.
They will discuss the work of the RIBA and Cabe on advising the government on housing and various proposals to solve the housing crisis and improve housing quality across the UK.
At the conference they are joined by representatives of Liverpool City Council who will outline the city’s approach to housing, as well as architects, activists, academics and resident groups from over 15 countries. They will share government, architect and community experiences from Mexico, Portugal, Australia, Estonia, Germany, Brasil, China and elsewhere.
The conference has been run in conjunction with the scholarly journal Architecture_MPS, the University of Liverpool and John Moores University.
