Library & Student Services (LSS) is seeking a knowledgeable and capable Collections Manager to lead and manage a team of specialist staff who support the development of library collections at UCA.
Providing specialist leadership and direction for the team based at Farnham, you will be responsible for taking a strategic lead and operational oversight in developing, monitoring and evaluating processes and services delivered by the department to support teaching, learning and research. You will also ensure that close working relationships with academic staff are nurtured, and that strong and sustainable models of collaboration are developed and maintained both within the department and across the wider university.
The role of the Collections Manager is crucial in driving forward the vision and strategy of Library & Student Services. You will act as a consultant, providing advice and guidance in your specialist area and will work in partnership with academic staff and other colleagues to support the curriculum and to ensure that students have access to information resources which will enable them to succeed. You will also develop and implement appropriate policies that will inform the wider operation of the University, fostering a culture of research and evidence-based practice within the team.
This role would suit an innovative individual with a sound understanding of bibliographic services, library management systems and resource discovery as well as excellent management skills, who enjoys interacting and collaborating with a wide-range of people.
