We are seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Statistics to start on 1 September 2015 or as soon thereafter as possible. The post is part of a strategic initiative to strengthen the relationship between our Statistics group and the Machine Learning group in Computer Science. A vital part of the post will involve developing opportunities for collaboration between Statistics in the School and the Machine Learning group in Computer Science led by Prof Neil Lawrence. Thus, your research programme and research interests will be (i) related to current interests in the Statistics Research Group in the School (ii) related to machine learning and the recently launched Open Data Science Initiative (http://ml.dcs.shef.ac.uk/odss/).

We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer with research interests in Applied Probability to start on 1 September 2015 or as soon thereafter as possible. You should be an active researcher, with experience in an area of applied probability. Some background in probabilistic applications to graphs and networks and/or biological systems would be an advantage. You will be expected to develop expertise in teaching statistics at both undergraduate and master's level.
