Postdoc position in ultracold collisions at JILA
John Bohn at JILA is looking for a theorist to work on calculations of atomic and molecular scattering at cold and ultracold temperatures (between 1 nanoKelvin and 10 Kelvin). This is a one-year postdoctoral appointment with an option for a second year, and would start in, say, September 2015.
Experience in scattering theory is a must; familiarity with ultracold collisions is a definite plus; and, while the job does not strictly require it, an ability to sit in the same room as people doing many-body physics, without breaking into a rash, would be strongly desired. The work will center on understanding and learning to control the cold collision dynamics of unusual atomic species, such as atomic erbium and dysprosium; oddball molecules like RbSr that can be or will be created in laboratories soon; as well as perfectly respectable molecules like OH and CH.
JILA is an interdisciplinary institute (and a pretty good one, too!) at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Applications are accepted beginning immediately. Send a CV, a letter of interest, and at least one letter of reference by email to [log in to unmask]
