Hi All,
Thanks mostly to Tim's efforts, I think we now have all the
(non-obsoleted) Starlink and ORAC-DR documents updated to use the
starlink.cls and TeX4HT system. The only exceptions are the XML
documents and the Starjava documents. (Let me know if I've missed any...)
For Starjava, I think there are only 2 SUNs that are in .tex format --
SUN/254 (Frog) and SUN/243 (Splat).
I'm happy to port over the two .tex documents (frog and splat), but I
wasn't sure if this was desired. At the moment, you do need a starlink
install to build the html output (using 'star2html'), but you wouldn't
need one to make hardcopy output. If we port these over, you'd need to
have a starlink install for both.
Do the Frog and Splat maintainers/other StarJava users have a preference
on this?
If we do port these two remaining documents over we can remove
latex2html from starlink, and update star2html to only have the relevant
code for the TeX4HT builds.
On the XML side -- are there any plans for changes to the .xml
documents? We currently don't build these on the JAC nightly builds or
releases, but the documents are available through google if people need
them.
The XML documents in Starlink are:
sc13.xml: Theory and Modelling Resources Cookbook (2003)
http://www.astro.gla.ac.uk/~norman/star/sc13/sc13.htx/index.html
ssn78.xml: The Starlink Build system (2004-5),
http://www.astro.gla.ac.uk/~norman/star/ssn78/ssn78.htx/
sun248.xml: Building Starlink Software (2005),
http://www.astro.gla.ac.uk/~norman/star/sun248/sun248.htx/
ssn71.xml dvi2bitmap (In thirdparty, used for the xml builds)
Starjava also has the following xml documents:
sun256.xml: ttools
sun253.xml: topcat
