A Global Postdoctoral Fellow (GPF) position is available at the NYU-ECNU Center for Computational Chemistry at NYU Shanghai, starting July 1, 2015. The GPF will work in Shanghai, China, together with Professors Zlatko Bacic and Mark Tuckerman at NYU New York, on the dynamics, spectra and diffusion of hydrogen, protons, hydroxide ions, and/or other small molecules (methane, water) in nanoporous materials. The position is initially for one year, and renewal for the second year is possible, contingent upon satisfactory performance. The annual salary for the GPF is 40,000 USD plus benefits.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. in the area of theoretical/computational chemistry, strong publication record, and working knowledge of either quantum dynamics/spectroscopy or statistical mechanics. Experience in quantum mechanical calculations (bound state and/or path integral) in molecular and condensed phase systems, or in molecular dynamics calculations, as well as computer programming, is mandatory. The GPF will live and work in Shanghai, and therefore candidates need to be highly motivated and capable of working with a high degree of independence.
To be considered for the GPF position, applicants should send their curriculum vitae and the list of publications, and ensure that two-three letters of recommendation are sent to Zlatko Bacic ( [log in to unmask]) and Mark Tuckerman ([log in to unmask]).
