Hi Peter,
As far as I am aware The National Funding Scheme (DONATE) is available to any registered charity that is cultural or arts based.
They launched it about a year & half ago with 6 partners to see whether funding could be raised for specific projects that the public/visitors could get behind. These partners were a range of National Museums (science museum), theatre and educational organisations. The project seemed to work and they then launched last year making it open for more organisations to join. The project is Government backed as well as initially part funded by other charities so there is no joining fee but they do take commission on the gift aid added to any donation. I think they are trying to get members of the public joined up to the 'Donate scheme' so they as individuals are registered and can therefore donate to a project when they see the sign in the premises at a click of an app on their phone.
What I thought was quite nice about it is that depending on how you set up your page you can let potential donors know how much money you have raised so far if you have a specific project, but you can also put a general support our activities donation page up as well.
They are always happy to take to potential new partners & it may be the case that they are hoping to expand the scheme past charities.
Best wishes
Charlotte

Hi Charlotte, et al.,
Is this something that any museum (i.e a local authority museum) could use?
Am I also correct in assuming that Just giving is only for use by charities? Or as a registered VAT exempt museum, can we use Just Giving too?
Sorry to jump in on this thread, but it would be useful to know.
Best wishes,
Peter

Hi Zac,
There is also the National Funding Scheme, backed by the Government & various Charities.
https://www.nationalfundingscheme.org/
We have yet to sign up to it fully but it's in the works. Not as big as Just Giving (as only been going for just over a year & a bit) but you advertise for specific projects like conservation of an object to be funded by the public.
Hope that helps.
Best wishes
Charlotte

Hi MCG list
Can anybody recommend a ‘text to donate’ service that they’ve actually used and let me know on/off list why it works for you…. Also let me know off-list of any to avoid!
Thanks
