Andrew,
I've done it before for our engineering students who use a mixture of Harvard (Author/Date) and IEEE (Numbered) referencing. That part was more of a lecture (with more interactive elements for EndNote, also covered in the same session).
I showed the same examples in both systems, and gave out a sample document in each style. Also we encouraged to find out which of the two systems they needed, and follow an appropriate set of guidance from their LibGuide.
Handout (I printed these back to back for the session)
An example of Harvard referencing http://library.soton.ac.uk/ld.php?content_id=4800526
An example of IEEE referencing http://library.soton.ac.uk/ld.php?content_id=4660794
Referencing and Endnote Presentation

If I had do something covering a greater number of styles I would demonstrate an example style of each fundamental type (Author/Date, Numbered and Footnote) as needed - so three at most.

Subject: Referencing skills session catering for multiple referencing styles
Hello,
Has anyone got any experience of teaching a referencing skills session that catered for students using a number of different referencing styles?
We recently delivered some Harvard workshops, but were concerned that this excluded a number of students who were expected to use different styles.
Any anecdotal experiences, useful ideas, or links to helpful resources would be very much appreciated as we wish to run another workshop soon.
Andrew
