Dear all,
For those who are seismologists and belong to the Seismological
Society of America (SSA), and apologies to those who are not: if
your early-career friend/colleague/postdoc whom you thought worthy of the
RAS Fowler or Winton Capital award didn't get it, then the Richter award
is the equivalent from the SSA, for someone within six years
of their last academic degree. Both the nominee and the
nominators need to be members of the SSA, though. The BGA
encourages its members to nominate colleagues for relevant
prestigious awards such as this one.
The deadline is rather short: 15th February i.e. 6 days hence!
Regards,
Sheila Peacock,
list co-owner; BGA Committee.
