You are warmly invited to Literatures of the Middle East - a new reading group for postgraduates and staff in London. This is a friendly, informal space to discuss Middle Eastern literature in English/English translation, open to all those with an interest in the region and its literatures.
We start with texts that evoke the great cities of the region, beginning with Beirut in March, with The Tiller of Waters by Hoda Barakat.
Our first meeting will take place on Tuesday, March 3rd, 6.30-8pm at Goldsmiths, University of London in the Richard Hoggart Building (Main Building), room 139.
For more information please contact Nadia Atia ([log in to unmask]) or Tamar Steinitz ([log in to unmask]).
All welcome, and please forward to anyone you think may be interested.
