Apologies for cross-posting but I thought members might be interested in a joint blog just launched by the Architectural Association Archives, Library and Photo Library:
http://collectionsblog.aaschool.ac.uk/
(where you can also subscribe for a fortnightly email version of the blog)
The blog is intended as a forum for notifying researchers of important new acquisitions or discoveries within the various collections. We will also be highlighting historic drawings, objects, photographs and books which have recently been catalogued or which have a topical relevance.
The first posts highlight, from the AA Archives, some recently acquired drawings by the cybernetician, Dr Ranulph Glanville, the manuscript of an unpublished novel by Alison Smithson (offered to the AA in the 1980s), and the archives of Dr Otto Koenigsberger. The AA Library’s posts consider Eduardo Paolozzi’s connections with the AA and Eileen Gray’s work, as published in L’architecture vivante. From the AA Photo Library we are also highlighting some images donated by Zaha Hadid Architects of their recent projects, by a range of photographers including Iwan Baan, Helene Binet, Hufton + Crow and Virgile Simon Bertrand.
Many thanks,
Edward Bottoms
