The Archive and Artefacts Study Network (A2SN) announces a workshop titled “Exploring Archives” to be held on 18th and 19th June, 2015 at The Museum of English Rural Life and the University of Reading. The programme and booking form can be downloaded from http://bit.ly/16eX9Lt To make the event as accessible to as many as possible, the Centre for Institutional Performance at the University of Reading is supporting one day of the workshop financially hence the cost of this two-day workshop is just £40 and admission for students is free of charge.
The workshop explores some of the thrills and potential spills of using a wide range of archives and seeks to expand collaboration between academics, archivists, museum professionals and enthusiasts. The event aims to prompt an awareness of the diverse activities of these groups and to begin a dialogue which leads to co-operation in preserving and using historically rich and valuable collections. Early booking is recommended for what promises to be an exciting event, encouraging lively and valuable discussion between individuals and groups who use and run archives. All are welcome.
