Dear All
On Tuesday 17th February we are hosting our first Archives Alive event, this be will at 1pm in the Pumphandle Bar at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
Two actors have used the archives to bring alive the voices of women who have advanced global public health, we will be reading a script developed from their correspondence and writings. The women featured are Amy Carpenter, wife of an entomologist who worked in Uganda on sleeping sickness in the 1920s, Mary Kingsley - British explorer who made pioneering trips to Africa in the 1890s and Mary Simpson who designed an anti-mosquito helmet in 1917. There will also be tea and cake!
