The Worldwide Antimalarial Resistance Network (WWARN) is looking for a Head of Advocacy & Communications to be based at the University of Oxford. The post will provide leadership and strategic direction, as well as day-to-day implementation, for all aspects of WWARN’s advocacy and communications activities.
The role will primarily involve leading communications campaigns to raise awareness of the need for antimalarial drug resistance surveillance, ensuring target audiences, channels and messages for communication are carefully monitored. You will also plan and coordinate WWARN’s involvement in external conferences, policy meetings and ensure widespread research publication dissemination. The postholder will work with a high profile team of international researchers to share and communicate their research findings with internal and external stakeholders.
You will have an advanced degree in a relevant subject (MBA, MPA, CIM or communication-related subject), management experience in an international setting in communications and/or advocacy programmes, and substantive experience managing and implementing digital strategies.
The candidate should ideally be available for a handover week commencing 16 March and/or 23 March 2015 (though this is flexible).
The post is available for 1 year in the first instance (maternity cover).
