Hi,
I'm a bit out of the loop in terms of Spanish/English variation lit, but if you are looking at reading/writing measures, you might consider using Cohmetrix, developed by Graesser and McNamara. I've been impressed by its measures, which include the typical (notsogreat) indices (# of syllables per word, etc.) used at state/federal ed agencies, but also really useful, linguistically sensitive measures.

Good morning,
I am a doctoral student desperately looking for studies of writing competency in elementary students of Spanish as HL. I do have writing samples from first graders but I am not sure what to analyze (coherence, cohesion, lexical density of academic language, etc.?)
Thank you,
Ann C.
