This is not just a Moodle issue it is throughout and causes us major problems with part-time and research classes. On a number of occasions we have had classes extended at the backend but less willing to now. I and others raised this with Will Murray at the Aston UG

Thought this info may be of interest to those of you using TII with Moodle as I do. Screenshot attached.

Hi all
I hope you have all recovered from the incredible farce this morning created by Turnitin.
Although, as we use the Basic integration, our end users were unaffected by today's Turnitin domain change, the disruption internally was still felt. First the alarm when spotting this surprise via the LISTs, then the resources required to check the extent of the impact for us and prepare to take action. We do use the direct site for Admin purposes (configuration, stats, etc.) so also had to update our documentation - a quick task, but not one scheduled for today!
To a large extent we were one of the lucky ones; however this appalling lack of communication and concern from Turnitin (- including a most half-hearted apology,) does nothing to reassure me that future changes, which we know are on the horizon for us (i.e the release of Tii Next and the Basic and Direct Building Block updates), will be managed appropriately by Turnitin.
I agree that we should use this opportunity to raise our concerns with Turnitin - again! and have requested that my senior management submit a formal complaint, as many of you have already done.
FYI. We are seriously looking at the Blackboard Assignment (BbA) tools with Safe Assign (SA) as an alternative to Turnitin (Tii). Currently I'd say we have a 25:75 split BbA &/ SA : Tii. Not all our BbA users use SA and many of our Tii users would be reluctant to switch, but not all. We are seeing more interest every time the Tii service lets them down!
I would be very happy to see and take joint action with other TII UK customers to push for change. #letsdothis!
Have a great weekend all,
Meg
