Dear Colleagues
I am delighted to draw your attention to new opportunities for Doctoral study at the Guildhall School. The Guildhall DMus/PhD offers students a unique opportunity to integrate creative practice (performance and composition) with scholarly research within an outstanding Conservatoire setting.
The programme combines world class facilities with supervision teams drawn from pre-eminent performers and academics, with a flexible programme structure that supports a wide range of practice-based research and methodologies.
Applications are welcomed in practice-based subject areas from students who hold an existing Masters degree (or equivalent) and have highly developed skills as musicians and academics.
Funded places are available for Autumn 2015/16 entry, with application proposals considered on merit and on an individual basis. The application deadline for funded places is 29 May 2015.
Prospective students are advised to email [log in to unmask] before submitting a formal application to explore the opportunities available. Further information can additionally be found on the Guildhall website at http://bit.ly/1ho4UOY
We additionally will be holding an event called Doing a doctorate on Wednesday 4 March 2015, from 10:30am–4pm. This event is an opportunity for those considering doctoral study to learn about the research environment and the potential of practice-based research in a world-leading conservatoire. Prospective candidates are invited to submit research proposals by 16 February 2015; the workshop will then be used to look at the proposals and give feedback.
Please do forward this information to colleagues/students who may be interested.
Best wishes
