Hi all
If it's been a long week and you're in need of a little inspiration, can I point you to the EuropeanaTech Conference: ‘Making the beautiful thing - transforming technology and culture’?
Here's the official blurb, but if nothing else skip down to the keynotes, which one prominent list member here has already described on Twitter as a 'great line-up'! There's also still the chance to submit your own project to present in an ignite talk or poster ...
"Creative re-use of cultural heritage content and data is one of Europeana’s top priorities. EuropeanaTech 2015 strives to inspire new ideas and showcase tools and applications that are re-using or presenting content in new, creative and innovative ways.
EuropeanaTech 2015 will take place 12-13 February at the National Library of France in Paris. The conference will address various technical aspects of cultural heritage including data re-use, data quality, multilingualism, data modelling and open data/open source software.
It's a chance for our community to connect with and address these issues in a really relevant way.
We are incredibly excited to welcome renowned international creative and cultural sector leaders as our keynote speakers.
- Bill Thompson, our MC for the event
- Seb Chan, Director of Digital and Emerging Technologies at Cooper-Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum.
- Andy Neale, Head of Digital NZ, Dan Cohen, founder and Executive Director of the DPLA, and via satellite, Tim Sherratt, Manager of Australia’s Trove
- Emma Mulqueeny, Founder and CEO of Rewired State and Young Rewired State.
- Chris Welty, Google Research
There will also be thought provoking break-out sessions, ignite talks and posters so if you have an inspiring project you’d like to present, submit your proposal now. The deadline for submissions is Friday 23 January so act fast!
