I am embarking on another megaediting project entitled THE CHANGING WORLD LANGUAGE MAP which will contain chapters on important, interesting and cutting-edge topics related to language use, culture, policy, representation and mapping. This book follows on THE CHANGING WORLD RELIGION MAP which Springer will publish this month (5 volumes, 208 chapters). Like the religion book, I want the language volume to be international and interdisciplinary in topics and authors.
I would like to include several chapters that deal with language and gender issues, perhaps on chapter that provides a literature review on the intersections of geography, mapping and gender and others on specific cast studies. All papers would have to have a conceptual/theoretical framework and be original.
The chapters would be 4-5000 words, contain some maps, and be due in November 2015. For those who are interested in further information, I will be happy to provide the prospectus and tentative Table of Contents I sent to Springer, which is also interested in this volume. What I am doing now is gathering tentative titles and abstracts.
Thanks and feel free to share this email with others.
