The Department of English & Comparative Literature at Goldsmiths, University of London, will support applications to the current round of Leverhulme Early Career Fellowships in the area of Shakespeare / early modern studies.

If you wish to seek the Department’s support, please write to Professor Russ McDonald ([log in to unmask]) by no later than Thursday 12 February 2015 at 12.00 noon, including:
- a covering letter explaining why the Department of English & Comparative Literature at Goldsmiths would be a particularly suitable research environment to develop your project;
- a research proposal, on no more than two sides of A4, explaining, for a non-specialist reader, your research questions; the originality, importance and relevance of the project; methodology; proposed publications and any other outcomes;
- a full academic CV.
Please note the following eligibility criteria:
- Your PhD viva must have taken place after 5 March 2010, or, if you are still registered as a PhD student, you will submit your thesis by 5 March 2015;
- You do not hold or have not held a permanent academic post at a UK university;
- You hold a degree from a UK institution or are currently employed by a UK academic institution in a temporary post.
The Department will confirm by no later than Thursday 19 February 2015 whether your Leverhulme application will be
supported.
Note that the Leverhulme deadline is 5 March 2015, but the full application must be submitted no later than Thursday 26 February to enable the Head of Department and the Institution to complete all the necessary approval details.
