Hi all - apologies for cross-posting - but please see our event below and disseminate to students and colleagues:
Work Employment and Economic Life group is pleased to present this interactive workshop with the new Work Employment and Society journal editor – Professor Melanie Simms
11th March 2015
2-4.30pm BSA Meeting Room, London
This workshop will be of interests to PhD students, early career scholars and anyone else who is interested to know more about the process and expectations of publishing in one of the leading journals in the field – Work, Employment and Society. You will get an opportunity to meet WES’s new editor, get useful publishing tips, and network with colleagues.
In the first part of the workshop Professor Simms will talk about her editorial experience, publishing and reviewing process, and expectations for publishing in WES which will be followed by a Q&A session. The second part of the workshop will be interactive: participants will be asked to bring along an abstract of the paper that they think of submitting to WES. The abstracts will be discussed in groups and Professor Simms will provide feedback on how to improve them. We will also look at other good examples of already published articles and discuss how to tailor the paper to this particular journal.
Places are limited and will be allocated on the first-come-first-served basis. Register online at: http://portal.britsoc.co.uk/public/event/eventBooking.aspx?id=EVT10412
