I'm in a similar situation, working for a small national charity but
with worldwide links, and with almost everything produced as born digital.
So, one freezes until taking the bul by the horns and getting that dig
pres strategy into place, plus the tools for pre-ingest analysis and
storage, and then doing it.
I'm also keen, since budgets are tight, to know clearly the open source
options. We're looking at ICA AtoM as our indexing software for analog
archives, but for digital, we're not clear enough. We want something
like Preservica, but without the lifesize costs. We are looking at
Archivematica which I think will help with that pre-ingest file analysis
and checking, but, and can someone help with this, is Archivematica also
suitable for Archival storage?? And if not, then what open source
options are open to us?
