Dear Colleagues,
Bookings are now being taken to attend the forthcoming Freedom of Information Core Training session. The event will take place on 16 February 2015 at Bristol Record Office.
The course on Freedom of Information (FOI) has been designed for archivists who would like to understand more about this piece of information legislation. It is also suitable for those working in records and information management without any training in this legislation and those within the recordkeeping profession who are interested in learning more about FOI. The course is not intended for experienced FOI practitioners.
The morning sessions will give delegates an appreciation and understanding of existing legislation, its key terms and an awareness of the key bodies involved in overseeing the Act’s implementation. The afternoon sessions will look at practical experiences of FoI. The day will then be drawn to a close with a panel session where delegates are invited to bring their own FOI case studies to discuss and work through with the expert panel.
