Subject: Secure Exam Paper Production
Good Afternoon,
Here at Brunel University London, we have been asked to consider producing/ printing exam question papers as part of Registry’s service. This would be a move away from current practice where papers are produced locally within departments by admin staff and delivered to the exam venue by either the admin team or an academic.
We would be interested in knowing the following;
What is your current practice? The Assessments Team have always reproduced all the exam papers either ourselves or through our reprographics department.
How secure do you feel your process is? We have strict guidelines in place that all papers have to be hand delivered and are kept securely locked away until the day of the exam.
How many sittings (students x exams) do you have in a year? We run two main exam sessions in May and resits in August. Approx. 215 exams with nearly 9000 sittings
How large is the team that delivers this service? There are 8 of us in total
Is the physical production carried out within a central team or by a professional print department/company? The printing is done by the team with some going to our own reprographics unit.
What have you found problematic? Storage can be a problem when they are all printed and bagged ready for the exams.
What have you found to be of benefit? We have always done it this way so cannot compare.
If you have recently changed practice (in either direction) or considered it, What prompted this and how has the change worked?
Thank you
Regards
Ross
