We do it yearly at the moment, but also operate automatic recertification if they hit the required number of tests QCs per annum. This Trust only converted to connected meters two years ago, so I am using this frequency to hopefully increase the knowledge base regarding glucose testing, rather than the practical procedure. It may become less frequent in the future as we launched e-learning last year. The uptake has been slow, but the aim is to eventually make this mandatory every three years, which would then cover the knowledge refresh for glucose testing. The Link nurses have to attend face to face refresh training yearly.
Kind regards,

I was just wondering how often sites are re-assessing their staff for glucose meter competency? At the moment we do it yearly - is that too often, the nurses think so?
Thanks,
