A new regular issue (number 30) of "Investigaciones Regionales / Journal of
Regional Research", the journal of the Spanish Regional Science Association
(AECR), is already available both on line
(www.investigacionesregionales.com) and printable version. This issue
corresponding to Autumn 2014 is an international compilation which contains
7 scientific-academic papers, one state of the art and one new section on
regional European policy.
-Correia and da Silva compare 12 selected indexes of creativity and identify

public transport merging three independent public databases and using a
Geographic Information System (GIS).
-Abalos and Paredes contribute to the construction of Functional Urban
Regions (FUR) using Intramax method for the case of Chile and including the
effects of long-distance commutation.
-Hierro and Atienza measure and evaluate the redistributive effect of
transfers and distribution of financial resources between common regime
Spanish Autonomous Communities (ACs) for different models of regional
funding, from 1987 to 2010.
-Goerlich and Cantarino present an exercise in the determination of cities
from clear and explicit quantitative criteria developed by Eurostat and the
DG-Regio. linking the city concept to the local political level, introducing
the term «administrative cities»,
Within the section 'Panorama & Debates' Fernandez and Lago presents a state
of the art reviewing all the judgments expressed by Spanish Autonomous
Communities in March 2014 on the regional financing model passed in 2009 and
its implementation by the central government. .
