* A few people commented that the main way they have supported revalidation is through providing tools such as UpToDate and DynaMed which allow users to document and organise their revalidation and appraisal.
* If we can get our library training accredited by a relevant professional body this would obviously allow us ot better support revalidation.
* You could contact your local person who is responsible for revalidation and ask them to send out an email promoting relevant library services (I intend to do this).
* Libraries can offer tailored training to support reflective practice and how to develop their pdps.

Subject: Library support for doctor revalidation
Happy New Year everyone
Does anybody market library services at doctors undergoing revalidation? How did you go about it?
My understanding of revalidation is that it is a requirement of GMC membership and was introduced in 2012 and must be repeated every 5 years. The GMC's Good medical practice framework for appraisal and revalidation<http://www.gmc-uk.org/The_Good_medical_practice_framework_for_appraisal_and_revalidation___DC5707.pdf_56235089.pdf> includes a requirement that doctors are able to demonstrate that they use the best available evidence to inform their practice. I was wondering if it would be worth using this to promote my library's literature search request service / critical appraisal training.
Thanks
