Are you interested in postgraduate studies in transport?  Do you find
yourself asking questions that don’t yet have answers?  Do you want to hone
your skills in developing hypotheses, gathering data and sharing your new
knowledge with others?  Want to spend three years living in Melbourne,
Australia, one of the world’s most liveable cities?  We are offering a PhD
scholarship (full tuition plus AU$25,400 per year for living expenses) for
an exceptional candidate to do research in one of the following areas:



•           The social impacts of the transport system

•           Human behaviour and the transport system

•           The impact of Information Communication Technology and 'new
media' on travel behaviour



Candidates are expected to have completed a bachelor's degree with a
research component in the fourth year, leading to an honours 1 or
equivalent qualification.  The strongest candidates will have a master’s
degree in a related discipline and a record of conference and journal
publications.

About me: I am a lecturer at the Institute of Transport Studies, Department
of Civil Engineering at Monash University. My research focuses on the
changing travel habits of young people, transport psychology, human factors
in public transport and the use of powered-two-wheel transport.  You can
