Re: Changes to Approved VOs
(https://www.gridpp.ac.uk/wiki/GridPP_approved_VOs)
I can now explain these changes. The servers to which they relate are
old ones (lcg-voms.cern.ch and voms.cern.ch.) The old servers are in the
process of being retired after being replaced by lcg-voms2.cern.ch and
voms2.cern.ch (which are sha-2 compliant.), as shown here:
https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/LCG/VOMSLSCfileConfiguration
Unfortunately, the old servers have been "temporarily retained" in the
operations portal, and thus show up unnecessarily in "Approved VOs"
because it assumes that presence in the operations portal implies that
they are operational! In any case, they should be ignored and eventually
removed (precipitated by an EGI broadcast.)
Maarten has arranged for them to be deleted from the ops portal, and
that should clear everything up.
Cheers,
Steve
--------------- PREVIOUS MESSAGE -------------
All,
I've picked up some changes from the Ops Portal to these VOs: ALICE,
ATLAS, CMS, GEANT4, LHCB, OPS, VO_SIXT
Summary of changes: For each VO, any certificate with a CA_DN field that
was:
/DC=ch/DC=cern/CN=CERN Trusted Certification Authority
is now:
/DC=ch/DC=cern/CN=CERN Grid Certification Authority
Special note: I'm surprised that this large change has been brought in
without more warning, e.g. via an operations-portal broadcast. I'll
try to find out what happened. Sites may want to hold off any update
activity until we know more.
Cheers,
Steve
