Hi Claire
I attended a vision screen course last year and was informed by the optician taking the course that if the employee is in the unacceptable area for the depth perception test this is not a reason to fail the employee. The optician advised that I put a note on the fit form to request that the fork lift truck trainer pays particular attention to judging distance during the training.
Hope this helps
Kind Regards
Sarah

Subject: [OCC-HEALTH] Keystone Vision- Stereopsis(Depth Perception) Test F-7
Hi,
I have a query regarding the Stereopsis (Depth Perception) Test F-7 on the Keystone VS-5 vision screening machine.
Does anyone know what the widely accepted minimum requirement on this test for Forklift Truck Drivers/ Crane Drivers?
If the employee ONLY see's the box in line 1, the heart in line 2, and the cross is line 3, they score in the "unacceptable category" on the record form. Would this warrant a referral to an optician for a professional eye examination?
I would be very grateful any help/advice you can offer on this subject.
Thanks in advance.
