Workshop: Editing and Reconstructing the Baldwin Partbooks

This workshop forms part of the AHRC-funded Tudor Partbooks project, one of whose aims is to create a reconstruction of the missing tenor partbook from the Baldwin Partbooks (GB-Och: Mus979-83). Sessions on editing Tudor polyphony and completing missing parts will be led by Magnus Williamson, Owen Rees, Andrew Johnstone and John Milsom. Singers from Contrapunctus will participate on Friday afternoon, trying out editorial solutions and providing the singers’ perspective.
Materials will be circulated in advance for participants to have a go at their own reconstructions, so please register by 31 January via:
