*About Mobile HCI 2015*

MobileHCI 2015 is the premier forum for innovations in mobile,
portable and personal devices and with the services to which they
enable access. There are a number of ways for you to participate in
MobileHCI 2015, either by making a submission or simply attending.
MobileHCI brings together people from diverse areas which provides a
multidisciplinary forum for academics, hardware and software
developers, designers and practitioners to discuss the challenges and
potential solutions for effective interaction with and through mobile
devices, applications, and services. MobileHCI maintains a small
number of tracks along with a wide range of other program aspects to
encourage the exchange of research results, ideas and future research
endeavours.

*General Information*

Are you working in an emerging area in MobileHCI? Consider organizing
a workshop! Workshops allow members of a community to meet in the
context of a focused and interactive discussion. Arranging a workshop
is an opportunity to move the field forward and to build a community.
MobileHCI workshops might address basic research, applied research,
HCI practice, new methodologies, emerging application areas, design
innovations, management and organizational issues, or HCI education.
Each workshop should generate ideas that give the MobileHCI community
a new, organized way of thinking about the topic, or ideas that
suggest promising directions for future research. Some workshops
result in edited books or special issues of journals; you may consider
including such a goal in the design of your workshop.

Workshops will be held on August 24th 2015. Two workshop formats will
be available: half-day and full-day. Half-day workshops should be
scheduled to use 3 working hours, with one break. Full-day workshops
should be scheduled to use 6 working hours, with a mid-morning break,
a lunch break, and a mid-afternoon break. Workshops typically have 15
to 20 participants. Focused interaction among participants is
important. Participants must have informed positions based on prior
experience.


*Submissions*

Workshop organizers submit a workshop proposal to the MobileHCI
conference. Proposals undergo a review process. Accepted workshops
will be publicized on the MobileHCI website. Workshop organizers will
be expected to recruit workshop participants (e.g., through
announcements on relevant mailing lists and using social media).

The submission deadline for workshop proposals is February 6th 2015.


*Format*

A workshop proposal submission consists of a single PDF file in the
MobileHCI 2015 Extended Abstracts Format. This document must contain
four sections: a cover sheet, a proposal, a description of the
workshop, and a call for participation. Please see

*Responsibility of Workshop Organizers*

Please keep the following responsibilities in mind when submitting a
workshop proposal:

- Publicize their workshop: organizers of an accepted workshop are
encouraged to set up and maintain locally a web page in which they
provide further and updated information about their workshop. The
local page of the workshop will be reachable from the official
MobileHCI workshop site.

- Solicit papers from potential participants: A workshop paper is
generally 2-4 pages long and outlines the submitter's view on the
workshop theme and the reasons for the submitter's interest in the
topic.

- Select participants on the basis of papers submitted to them.

- Distribute papers and other pre-workshop materials to participants
in advance of the workshop.

- Develop a final agenda of workshop activities.

At the workshop, the organizer is responsible for facilitating
discussion, maintaining productive interaction, and encouraging
participation. The emphasis should be on group discussion, rather than
on presentation of individual papers. Diversity of perspectives should
be encouraged.

We will provide the following A/V equipment: projector, screen, 1 flip
chart, 1 set of pens, and adhesive for attaching flip chart pages to
walls without leaving marks. Regarding wireless availability, network
connectivity is available in the facility.
